Houthi forces attacked the presidential palace in Aden, killing two bodyguards. The Yemeni prime minister survived the strike and vowed to fight back.

Houthi fighters recently launched missiles at the presidential palace in Aden. This attack hit the headquarters of Yemen’s recognized government.

The strike killed two bodyguards belonging to the prime minister. Smoke rose near the al-Maashiq Palace after the explosions occurred.

Meanwhile, the prime minister and other officials survived the blast. Authorities described the event as a failed assassination attempt.

Also, Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree claimed responsibility for the strike. He stated that the building housed a Saudi operations room.

Saree warned that Saudi economic or military sites in Yemen remain targets. The Houthis view these locations as legitimate military objectives.

However, the prime minister condemned the group on social media. He labeled the strike a terrorist act against state institutions.

Furthermore, he vowed that government military operations would continue. He plans to liberate all of Yemen from Houthi control.

After that, he noted that his forces aim to recapture the capital city. The Houthis seized control of the capital in 2015.

Still, both sides currently engage in a fierce war of words. Each party claims their military actions are fully justified.

Finally, regional tensions continue to rise amid the conflict. We are tracking updates on fighting and diplomatic efforts across the region.
