Our commitment

News One USA aims to publish accurate news. When we make a mistake, we correct it openly and promptly. This page explains how to tell us about an error and what we do next.

How to report an error

Send the article link, the passage you believe is wrong, and — if you have it — a source showing the correct information, through our Contact page. Reports with a source are checked first, but every report is read.

What happens next

  • Checked against our sources. An editor compares the claim with the primary sources used for the article.
  • Fixed promptly. Confirmed errors are corrected in the article as soon as they are verified.
  • Visible notes for significant corrections. If the error changed the meaning of the story — a wrong name, figure, date or outcome — a correction note is added to the article stating what was wrong and what it now says.
  • Minor fixes. Typos and formatting errors that do not affect meaning are corrected without a note.
  • Removal. Content is removed only in exceptional cases, for example where it is unlawful or based on a source that has been authoritatively withdrawn; where practical, the page explains the removal.

Updates vs corrections

New developments in a running story are updates, not corrections: the article is revised to reflect the latest verified facts, following our Editorial Policy and Fact-Check Policy.
