Organizers may delay the 2027 Asian Cup until 2028 due to ongoing missile attacks and safety concerns in Saudi Arabia.

Officials might delay the Asian Cup football tournament by one year. The event could move to 2028 because of recent Houthi attacks.

Next, the Asian Football Confederation President Sheikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa addressed the situation. He said organizers will reschedule the games if necessary. However, they feel no immediate pressure to decide.

Also, the tournament is currently set for January 7, 2027. Matches should take place in Jeddah, Riyadh, and al-Khobar. Saudi Arabia faces rising attacks from Houthi forces recently.

Meanwhile, the federation leaders will wait until late November to decide. The president noted that regional conditions change rapidly. They want to observe how the situation develops.

As a result, officials keep all options open for now. They could push the event to 2028 if safety remains a concern. Currently, the tournament plans stay on schedule.

Still, regional violence impacts other sports events already. A missile interception near Riyadh delayed an Asian Champions League match this week. That game featured Al-Nassr.

Furthermore, officials postponed three domestic Saudi football matches. The Six Kings Slam tennis tournament also faced delays. Organizers moved that event to late December.

After that, international teams began expressing their worries. Australia is watching the situation closely. They want to ensure the safety of their players.

Finally, the South Korean players' union voiced serious concern. They stated that player safety must come before any tournament. They believe security instability in the Middle East is a major issue.
