Arab-majority parties may play a pivotal role in the next Israeli election as voters seek to influence the country's direction and local issues.

Students in Nazareth are currently distributing leaflets to encourage Arab citizens to participate in the upcoming Israeli election. Polls suggest that these Arab-majority parties could hold a critical balance of power. Many voters hope to remove the current right-wing coalition from office.

Also, many Arab Israelis feel treated like second-class citizens by the current government. Young voters believe that supporting Arab lists is essential for their future. They want to replace the existing leadership with a new government.

However, forming a new coalition remains difficult. Most Jewish parties refuse to partner with Arab political groups. Both the current Prime Minister and his opposition rivals lack a clear path to a parliamentary majority.

Next, the war in Gaza has deepened divisions across the country. Many Arab citizens report facing discrimination and hostility since October 2023. Activists claim the government uses inflammatory language and cuts funding for their communities.

Meanwhile, some politicians are using these tensions to gain votes. Far-right ministers have discussed policies that threaten the status of Arab regions. These actions further alienate the Arab minority from the current ruling parties.

As a result, Arab political leaders are looking for ways to exert influence. Mansour Abbas, who leads the United Arab List, seeks a seat at the table. He believes in working with Jewish partners to solve community problems.

Still, the Joint List takes a different approach. They aim to provide an electoral safety net for opposition parties. Their goal is to gain policy concessions in exchange for their support.

Finally, rampant gang crime has become a top issue for many voters. Many families believe the government fails to protect Arab neighborhoods from violence. High murder rates have left many feeling ignored by the authorities.

Now, voters are preparing for the final days of the campaign. The Supreme Court recently allowed Arab parties to remain on the ballot. This election could fundamentally shift the future of Israeli politics.
