A 26-year-old Oklahoma man remains in custody after being arrested three times in under two weeks for a series of alleged assaults against women.

An Oklahoma City man is currently in police custody following a sequence of three separate arrests occurring within a twelve-day period. The suspect, identified as 26-year-old Jeff Kufi Asare, was initially taken into custody in early August amid a series of escalating allegations involving the assault and harassment of women. The rapid succession of these events has drawn significant attention to the suspect’s extensive criminal history within the Oklahoma County judicial system.

The first encounter occurred on August 1, when local law enforcement responded to a report of a potential sexual assault. Following an investigation, officers arrested Asare on probable-cause allegations, specifically citing felony sexual battery and felony indecent exposure. This initial arrest set off a chain of legal proceedings that would see the suspect return to jail multiple times in less than two weeks as new allegations emerged.

Only five days after his first arrest, Asare was taken into custody again. Police were dispatched to a downtown park following reports of sexual assaults involving multiple women. Upon arriving at the scene, officers detained Asare and booked him on allegations of attempted kidnapping and felony sexual battery. In addition to these felony-level allegations, the suspect was issued two city citations for assault and battery, further complicating his legal standing.

The third and most recent arrest took place on August 12, following an intervention an along the Lake Hefner Trail, prompting them to alert the authorities immediately. As a result of this incident, Asare was booked on a first-degree rape charge. He is currently being held on a $75,000 cash-or-bail bond, a significant increase from the previous bond amounts set

Public records indicate that Asare’s involvement with the criminal justice system is not a recent development. A review of Oklahoma County court dockets shows that his name has appeared in at least 18 separate files since January 2023. These records include a mixture of misdemeanor convictions, probable-cause proceedings, and a pending civil lawsuit. His prior criminal record features seven misdemeanor convictions, including charges for resisting an officer, shoplifting, trespassing, and marijuana possession.

The suspect's history of breaking and entering is particularly notable, with multiple convictions recorded between November 2024 and April. Despite serving short jail sentences and participating in court-ordered programs, Asare has continued to find himself in conflict with the law. In several instances, court records show that he failed to appear for scheduled hearings, leading to the issuance of bench warrants. This pattern of recidivism has raised questions about the effectiveness of previous interventions and the management of his cases.

While the suspect remains behind bars, official state-level charges have yet to be formally filed. The Oklahoma County District Attorney’s Office has confirmed that they are awaiting the completion of investigations fully processed and presented to the district attorney, prosecutors expect to move forward with formal state charges. The police department is currently finalizing the documentation related to the most recent August 12 arrest.

As the legal process unfolds, the community and local officials are closely monitoring the situation. The frequency of the alleged attacks, combined with the suspect's documented history of non-compliance with court mandates, has become a focal point for those concerned with public safety. Authorities continue to gather information as they prepare for upcoming court appearances, while inquiries regarding the suspect's background and potential federal involvement remain ongoing.
