Israeli forces launched a large military operation in Hebron following a fatal shooting. The military also closed the West Bank ahead of upcoming elections.

Israeli soldiers recently raided at least 13 towns across the northern West Bank. They detained dozens of Palestinian residents during these operations. Troops entered major cities including Nablus, Jenin, and Qalqilya.

Meanwhile, the military ordered hundreds of families to leave their homes in Hebron. Soldiers surrounded a house linked to a recent shooting attack. They also demolished a three-storey building in the city.

Also, families received only five minutes to gather their belongings before the destruction. Authorities detained several relatives of the suspected attackers. Officials say these actions serve as retribution for the recent violence.

Next, Israel announced a total closure of the occupied West Bank. This measure arrives just days before the upcoming elections on October 27. The military plans to shut off all access to Ramallah.

Furthermore, Israeli leaders plan to use the “Jenin model” in Hebron. This strategy involves widespread destruction and forced displacement of local residents. Prime Minister Netanyahu promised an operation unlike any seen since 1967.

However, officials face criticism over these harsh security measures. National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir suggested new travel restrictions for Palestinians. He claimed Israeli lives matter more than Palestinian freedom of movement.

As a result, many residents fear a rise in collective punishment. They worry these new tactics will reach unprecedented levels. Military leaders vowed to reach everyone involved in the recent shooting.

Separately, Saudi Arabia reported a security incident in its eastern region. The Saudi-led coalition intercepted and destroyed an enemy drone. Officials shared news of the successful strike on social media.

Finally, Yemen’s representative to the United Nations met with an Austrian envoy. They discussed the humanitarian crisis caused by Houthi rebels. The leaders also planned future diplomatic cooperation between their nations.
