Police are investigating Married at First Sight Australia following reports of inappropriate content being shared by the show's production team.

Law enforcement officials in Australia have launched an investigation into the reality show Married at First Sight. New South Wales police started the inquiry after receiving a report about inappropriate content. They plan to refer the matter to the Western Australia Police Force soon.

Meanwhile, Channel Nine confirmed they know about the police investigation regarding the show's production company. The network directs all questions to Endemol Shine Australia. The production company has not provided any comments on the situation yet.

Also, reports suggest a male cast member filed a formal complaint with the police. He claims producers shared private information about him with his on-screen wife. This incident adds to the show's growing list of controversies.

Earlier this year, a separate investigation revealed serious issues with the Australian program. Former cast members claimed they did not know their partners had prior criminal records. These included histories of drug use and violence.

However, the network and producers previously defended their safety protocols. They claimed to have strong systems in place for participant wellbeing. Still, critics continue to demand better background checks for all participants.

Furthermore, the British version of the show faces its own set of serious problems. Earlier this year, a documentary revealed rape allegations from two female participants. Those men involved have denied all accusations made against them.

As a result, the UK media regulator Ofcom started an investigation into the British show. Channel 4 also commissioned a review regarding the welfare of contributors. The final report remains unpublished despite earlier promises to release the findings.

Finally, industry experts note that these shows involve strangers marrying for entertainment. The ceremonies are not legally binding, yet participants live together while cameras record them constantly. These new police inquiries raise fresh questions about safety standards on set.
