Volodymyr Zelensky is in Brussels meeting European leaders. This follows sharp criticism from Donald Trump regarding Ukraine's military tactics.

Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Brussels for a high-level summit. He met with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. He also joined European Council President António Costa for talks.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump recently criticized the Ukrainian leader. Trump claimed Zelensky is harder to work with than Vladimir Putin. He also called Ukraine's attacks on Russian oil refineries a disgrace.

However, Zelensky previously stopped these strikes for three days. He did this at the request of President Trump. Zelensky resumed the attacks because he says Russia never stopped its own aggression.

Next, the war continues to impact Ukrainian civilians. A recent Russian drone strike hit the city of Kharkiv. This attack killed several people and injured at least 14 others.

As a result, European leaders remain firm in their support for Ukraine. Ursula von der Leyen spoke to the media about this. She said Russia failed to respect the requested energy ceasefire.

Also, the European Union plans to increase sanctions against Russia. Officials stated they will not lift any penalties until the war ends. They want to hold Moscow accountable for its actions.

Still, the relationship between Washington and Kyiv appears strained. Trump told media outlets that he is not a fan of Zelensky. He claims the Ukrainian leader does not truly want to settle the war.

Furthermore, Trump worries about global oil prices. He believes Ukrainian strikes on refineries hurt the economy. The United States recently made a deal to import Russian diesel fuel.

Finally, Zelensky continues his diplomatic tour across Europe. He held meetings with leaders from Poland, France, and other nations. He also spoke with the head of NATO.

Now, the Ukrainian president prepares for more discussions in Brussels. He plans to meet with the prime ministers of Hungary, Finland, and Sweden. He seeks continued unity among his European allies.
