South Africa won the Test cricket series against Australia after a dominant victory at Newlands.
South Africa beat Australia in a recent cricket match. The two teams played at Newlands. The home team won by 176 runs.
Meanwhile, the win clinched the three-match series for South Africa. The hosts won the series with a final score of 2-1.
The visiting team faced a big challenge on Saturday. Australia needed 288 runs to secure a victory. They struggled to reach that target.
As a result, the Australian batting lineup collapsed early. They only managed to score 111 runs in total. The South African bowlers dominated the field.
Also, Harmer delivered an impressive performance for the home side. He took six wickets for only 16 runs. This stands as his best bowling effort in his career.
After that, the Australian captain spoke to the media. Pat Cummins addressed the recent losses. He admitted his team faces tough questions now.
Still, the loss follows another poor result for Australia. They previously lost the second match by an innings and 31 runs. The team clearly struggled during this trip.
Finally, the series concluded on a high note for South Africa. The hosts controlled the game from the start. They celebrated a strong win at home.
Now, the Australian team must evaluate their recent play. Two heavy defeats in a row disappointed their fans. They have much work to do before the next series.
In short, the South African team played better cricket. Harmer led the charge with his historic bowling spell. Australia could not find an answer to the pressure.
