The Vatican recently confirmed that Pope Leo will continue his South American trip as scheduled. He underwent a successful surgery to remove a lung tumor on October 13 in Rome.

Also, the 71-year-old leader will travel to Uruguay, Argentina, and Peru from November 6 to 17. He expressed great joy and enthusiasm regarding these upcoming visits.

Next, the Pope will stick to his original itinerary. He plans to visit ten different cities during this important journey across the continent.

Then, the tour begins in Uruguay on November 8. He will visit Montevideo and several other key locations in the country.

After that, the Pope will travel to Argentina. He will spend time in Buenos Aires and other areas between November 11 and 17.

Meanwhile, he will dedicate six days to Peru. His stops will include Lima, Chiclayo, Cuzco, and Pucallpa. Many people in Peru are Catholic, and they await his arrival.

Cardinal Castillo of Lima noted the trip will focus on young people and indigenous communities. The Pope holds Peruvian citizenship and lived there as a missionary years ago.

Still, the Pope previously shared news of his cancer diagnosis with the public. Doctors caught the growth early and successfully removed it during a 90-minute operation.
