A Houthi missile strike on a Yemeni training camp killed 53 recruits and injured hundreds. Government officials condemned the attack as a war crime.

A deadly Houthi missile attack hit a training camp in Yemen's Shabwa province. Local officials report that 53 security recruits died in the strike. More than 200 other individuals suffered injuries during the blast.

Next, Houthi forces fired three ballistic missiles at the al-Alam camp. This site served as a training center for police and security personnel. The camp sits near the city of Ataq.

Also, Rashad al-Alimi condemned the attack as a criminal act. He leads Yemen's Presidential Leadership Council. He promised a firm response against the Houthi group.

Meanwhile, the Houthi military claimed they targeted enemy forces at the location. They stated that Saudi officers run the camp. Saudi officials provided no immediate comments on these claims.

After that, the regional health system faced a major crisis. Deputy Governor Fahad al-Khalifi said local hospitals reached capacity quickly. Staff moved many wounded victims to the cities of Aden and Hadramout.

Then, Information Minister Moammar al-Eryani labeled the strike a war crime. He argued that the recruits did not constitute a military target. He accused the Houthis of seeking a false media victory.

However, the conflict continues to grow across several regions. Pro-government forces recently launched a large offensive in western Yemen. They aim to reclaim territory previously captured by Houthi fighters.

Still, intense fighting persists in Marib, al-Jawf, and near the city of Taiz. The Houthis also continue to launch drones and missiles at Saudi Arabia. They claim these attacks retaliate against a Saudi blockade.

Finally, the civil war has caused immense suffering since 2014. Estimates show over 1,200 people died in the conflict since early August. The violence remains a major threat to stability in the region.
