NASA is opening its Ames Research Center for media to tour a new lunar landing simulator during late October.
NASA invites members of the news media to visit its Ames Research Center in California. The event takes place on Thursday, October 29, and Friday, October 30.
Also, the agency wants to show off a new lunar landing simulation. This technology helps prepare astronauts for future missions to the Moon.
Next, NASA uses special motion-based simulators for this training. These tools help engineering teams and pilots practice before they use real landing systems.
Meanwhile, the Artemis program aims to put humans back on the Moon by 2028. This simulator allows crews to gain important experience on the ground.
During the tour, reporters can ride the Vertical Motion Simulator. They will also have the chance to interview many space experts.
After that, interested journalists must RSVP by Tuesday, October 27. Please send your request to the NASA Ames newsroom via email.
Still, space for this event remains limited. NASA requires all media members to register in advance for consideration.
Furthermore, you must state your preferred date in your RSVP. NASA officials will review all requests based on their official accreditation policy.
Then, guests will see the upgraded simulator flight deck. NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston built this impressive technology.
Finally, these missions support the goal of exploring the lunar South Pole. NASA plans to establish a lasting presence on the Moon. This work also helps prepare the agency for the first human trip to Mars.
