Ambassador Mike Huckabee calls for the prosecution of those who attacked American journalist Heidi Levine in the West Bank.

United States Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee demands justice for a recent attack. He wants those responsible for assaulting Washington Post journalist Heidi Levine to face jail time.

Also, the ambassador spoke out on social media this Saturday. He called the violent event a cowardly act of terror against an unarmed reporter.

Next, the assault occurred in the occupied West Bank. Levine worked on a story about the annual olive harvest when the violence started.

Then, masked individuals stormed the scene. They beat the journalist and stole her personal belongings, including her passport, phone, and camera gear.

Furthermore, witnesses described the brutal nature of the event. The attackers used bottles and slingshots while kicking the journalist for several minutes.

As a result, Levine suffered serious physical injuries. She required surgery for a finger that was nearly severed from her hand.

Meanwhile, medical reports confirmed she also sustained a broken rib and multiple broken vertebrae. She also suffered several deep cuts during the struggle.

However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu suggested others might be to blame. He pointed fingers at Palestinians or activists instead of the local settlers.

Still, Ambassador Huckabee continues to push for a full investigation. He expects authorities to arrest and prosecute everyone involved in the incident.

Finally, the ambassador maintains a firm stance on settler violence. He previously labeled other similar incidents in the region as acts of terror.

Now, the United States State Department has also weighed in on the matter. Officials issued a statement condemning criminal violence by any party involved.
