Serbian citizens celebrated as a student-led movement defeated the ruling party in recent snap parliamentary elections.

Massive celebrations broke out across Serbia this weekend. A student-led movement defeated President Aleksandar Vucic and his ruling party. This victory ends the president's long hold on the nation.

Meanwhile, crowds filled the streets of Belgrade on Sunday night. Drivers honked their horns while waving Serbian flags. Bright fireworks lit up the sky above the city.

People gathered in large numbers near the parliament building. One student said she finally feels free. Many supporters raised three fingers to show their joy.

As a result, the recent elections brought a major change to the country. These votes followed two years of intense protests. Students led these demonstrations against the government.

The movement began after a tragic disaster in 2024. A canopy at the Novi Sad railway station collapsed suddenly. This terrible event killed 16 innocent people.

Many citizens blamed the tragedy on corruption and cronyism. These protests became the largest in Serbia since the year 2000. People wanted a change in leadership.

Later, supporters gathered at the Student List headquarters. They cheered and cried out for their victory. The group celebrated the end of the current regime.

Radomir Saicic spoke to the excited crowd after the results. He is a university professor and a key candidate. He promised that a tyrant would never rule Serbia again.

Finally, the new leaders urged people to stay peaceful. They asked for hard work to start on Monday morning. Pro-government groups left the area near the parliament.

Police trucks drove away as the crowds cheered loudly. The streets remained full of happy citizens late into the night. Serbia begins a new chapter in its history.
