Former Ukrainian prisoners report that Russian guards tortured American citizen Stephen Hubbard during his four-year detention.

Former Ukrainian prisoners reveal that Russian guards tortured American citizen Stephen Hubbard. These witnesses observed guards beating and mocking the elderly man during his long detention.

Also, the guards targeted Hubbard specifically because of his nationality. They forced him to sing the Russian anthem and repeat complex prison rules daily.

Next, Russian forces captured Hubbard in April 2022 near Izyum. Authorities accused him of serving in the military and sentenced him to nearly seven years.

Meanwhile, fellow inmates witnessed guards using stun guns on him. They also denied him proper food, warmth, and medical care throughout his time in prison.

Then, the captives described the horrific conditions at the Novozybkov facility. The jail suffered from broken windows and freezing temperatures during the harsh winter months.

As a result, Hubbard’s health declined rapidly while he remained in custody. His fellow prisoners even helped bandage his rotting wounds because guards refused to assist him.

Still, other reports suggest staff hid Hubbard from international visitors. Guards allegedly kept him out of sight during Red Cross inspections to conceal his physical condition.

Later, the Russian government released the 74-year-old man this week. This occurred while a US envoy met with Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg.

Finally, survivors of the prison system describe these facilities as torture machines. They hope that the individuals responsible for this abuse will eventually face justice.
